Required Eyeglass Lens Measurements
For Rx orders, we need your Pupillary Distance (PD) & Vertical Optical Center (OC/Segment Height). The PD is constant on all glasses, but the Vertical Measurement is specific to each frame you wear.
We can obtain this information using the following methods:

Requirements for Copying Measurements from existing lenses:
- Lenses in frame must be same lens type you are ordering (Progressives, Single Vision, etc)
- Lenses must have worked very well for you at one time
- Lenses must not be severely damaged (scratches are OK)
- Both lenses must be mounted in the frames
For this method, you must already have your Pupillary Distance that was professionally measured (NO APPS - they don't work and your lenses may not work). For the vertical measurement, have someone else (a friend or family member) dot the pupil location on the lenses.
- Look straight ahead with a level head into the distance.
- Have a friend or family member place a dot with a permanent marker on the lens.
- You can use tape if necessary.
- Double check that when you look out of the glasses, the dot is not above or below your line of sight (*Repeat if necessary)

You can have an optician or eye doctor measure your PD and Vertical Postioning (OC/Seg ht).
- If you have had Rx glasses made that worked well for you, you can contact the producer of those glasses for your Pupillary Distance (PD) as they will have it on file. We still need your Vertical Pupil Height, and you can use one of the other above methods for Pupil Height.
- Do not use online apps for this. They are not reliably accurate and could cause vision issues.
- Ensure the Vertical Positioning measurement is done for all frames you are sending in (the vertical measurement is frame specific, while the PD is always the same.
